Ken Burns

One of America’s great filmmakers, Ken Burns, has played a pivotal role in keeping alive the story of the Negro Leagues. He featured the great Buck O’Neil — “like a father to me” Burns says— in his acclaimed PBS documentary “Baseball.”

“Ken,” O’Neil said, “was the first person who said to me, ‘Just tell me your story.’”
