The first time I heard the sound ... I was just a boy, and I was in Florida and I was standing outside the fence, and I heard it, and it was a sound I’d never heard before in my life. That was Babe Ruth hitting the ball. The next time I heard that sound, I was in Washington, D.C., I rushed out to see who it was, and that was Josh Gibson hitting the ball.
